EDMONTON is a sociable town full of all kinds of things to do! From concerts, theatre productions and sporting events to conventions, movies and dozens of annual festivals, you'll never be bored in Festival City! Here's a list of 10 of the coolest things happening this upcoming weekend in and around the Edmonton area!

1/ Edmonton International Street Performers Festival
July 3 - 12 @ Sir Winston Churchill Square

StreetFest is a curated event, which means all of the top talent that comes to this event from around the world have been invited to come! This unique summertime tradition is 100% free to attend and is for all ages, all though there is a pass-the-hat donation suggestion for the artists!

2/ The Freewill Shakespeare Festival
June 23 - July 19 @ Heritage Amphitheatre (Hawrelak Park)

This season of this outdoors Shakespeare festival includes performances of As You Like It and Coriolanus at the Heritage Amphitheatre in William Hawrelak Park. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for students & seniors, or $35 for special events (festival pass is $50). 

3/ Color Me Rad Edmonton
Friday, July 3 (7AM) @ Rundle Park (2909 - 113 Avenue)

Color Me Rad is loosely based on the Hindu Festival of Colors (Holi), in which all participants end up coated in colourful liquids, powders & gels throughout the 5K run/walk at Rundle Park. It costs about $60 to register (pick up packets on Thursday).

4/ FIFA Women's World Cup Canada
Saturday, July 4 (2PM) @ Commonwealth Stadium

The history-making FIFA Women's World Cup wraps up this weekend, beginning with the match for third place at 2PM on Saturday at Commonwealth. It will then move to Vancouver for the Final on Sunday. For tickets to the Saturday game click HERE!

5/ Terminator Genisys & Magic Mike XXL
All weekend (various times & locations)

Two big sequels are opening up this weekend at most local movie theatres, Terminator Genisys (with Arnold Schwarzenegger & J.K. Simmons) & Magic Mike XXL (with Channing Tatum & Childish Gambino)! Terminator is also playing in 3D and IMAX 3D!

6/ Feats Festival of Dance
June 27 - July 12 @ ATB Financial Arts Barns (10330 - 84 Avenue)

The Feats Festival is a multi-disciplinary dance festival designed to celebrate and present superb Canadian talent with a special focus on our Alberta dance community. During the festival there will be youth & professional dance intensives, public workshops, educational programs, professional performances & more! Buy tix HERE!

7/ Sand on Whyte
July 3 - 12 (10AM - 10PM) @ corner of Whyte Avenue & Gateway Blvd.

Sand carving is a worldwide performance art phenomenon, much like ice carving, and it's coming back to Old Strathcona for 10 full days! It will be located at the CP Rail land in the northeast corner of Whyte & Gateway, and admission is by donation.

8/ The Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament
June 29 - July 5 @ West Edmonton Mall's Ice Palace

Come and cheer on the future of the NHL, as the top nine & ten-year-olds take over the Ice Palace in West Ed for the 25th anniversary of the Brick Invitational! Some of the past players in this free summer tradition include Jordan Eberle, Jonathan Toews, and Steven Stamkos! Check out the schedule HERE!

9/ Seven Music Festival
Saturday, July 4 @ Seven Hills in Mission Park (St. Albert)

This brand new music festival will host an amazing selection of top artists on the main stage and feature a variety of vendors including food, artists, and merchants. The line-up includes the Sam Roberts Band, Current Swell, Jack Semple, Daniel Wesley, Tupelo Honey, Jeff Stuart & the Hearts, and Scenic Route to Alaska!

10/ Canadian Track & Field Championships
July 2 - 5 @ Foote Field (11601 - 68 Avenue)

Check out the best Canadian athletes compete in various national team selection trials in 100m sprint, long jump, javelin throw, hurdles, relay, hammer throw, and more! There will also be beer tents and food trucks on site. Click HERE for a calendar of events.
