The stress of moving to an unfamiliar city can be overwhelming, but Navut is here to make things easier and make sure you make the right choice!

MOVING to a new city is never an easy thing to do, but that doesn't mean that it has to be a nightmare. I'm not talking about the actual move itself - because that's an unavoidable headache - but rather trying to figure out the best neighbourhood in this new city to fit the needs of you and your family.

Navut launched in 2013 and is expanding at a rapid pace!

There's a unique online tool that is designed to relieve your headaches by making it easy for Canadians to navigate specific and applicable areas and zones in the biggest cities throughout Canada, including in our very own backyard. It's called Navut, and it's a growing resource for families to find just the right fit when it comes to neighbourhoods in whatever city you're uprooting to.

According to affiliated blogger Michael D'Alimonte, Navut "allows you to find your ideal neighbourhood, see the properties available and local providers in the neighbourhood and/or get in touch with a Neighbourhood Specialist or a real estate agent

"All you have to do," he continues, "is choose and set the importance of a criteria using the Neighbourhood Finder. You choose as many criteria as you want. From your criteria selection, you'll be given the top five neighbourhoods that match your preferences."

You'll be able to explore very detailed information about each of more than 220 #yeg neighbourhoods as well, including stats on safety, potential neighbours, average family income rates, population growth, unemployment rates, and much more. There's even a section where anyone can leave a rating/review of each area.

"Navut is not a listing website," D'Alimonte clarifies. "Our goal is to help ease the burden of figuring out what neighbourhood to live in a city where someone knows nothing about. We provide properties in the Neighbourhood Profiles because choosing a place to live is one of the biggest challenges one faces when moving."

With Navut, your search is customizable, and the Neighbourhood Profiles are hand-picked to your preference, so there's no denying you're going to find the quintessential place to call your new home.

The concept of Navut - which is a combination of two Swedish words that mean "navigate" and "foreign land" - was born out of the lack of knowledge its founders (Mauro Repacci, Gustavo Burckhardt, Aureabelle Cruz, and Marcos Azevedo) had upon their own moves from overseas to Montreal.

You can also find Navut on Google Plus and Pinterest

"They ended up living in neighbourhoods that were not suitable for their lifestyles and paid more than they should have for rent and local services," D'Alimonte says.

Looking to access the indispensable knowledge of the locals, the founders made it their mission to create a logical solution for anyone moving to an unfamiliar city. "Everybody deserves to arrive in their new neighbourhood confident that it's the right place for them, which as everyone at Navut knows, is an invaluable asset."

There are other online tools that have similar notions, but some only offer random property selections and others rely on biased reviews that can misguide potential buyers. "You can end up in a dangerous neighbourhood or an expensive area by mistake," warns D'Alimonte.

Come on, who wouldn't wanna move here?! #yeglove

Nobody wants that, right?! Why not do it right in the first place, and visit the Navut community, which also offers blog posts about the culture, community and recommendations throughout Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary, Winnipeg, and of course the best of them all, Edmonton

Navut will soon be expanding its presence, launching branches in 10 more cities in the coming months, as well as a few U.S. metros before the end of the year. For more information on what and who Navut is, click HERE, or you can visit them on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms.
