BY EMIL TIEDEMANN W hen you think about wine regions you think about France, Italy, Spain, or perhaps California, right? Northern Lands is Friday, March 27 & Saturday, March 28 at the Shaw! Most people most likely do, but most true enthusiasts know better. Plenty of vino fanatics are aware that there are plenty of regions around the world that produce world class wine, including right here in climate-crazy Canada! Local author and poet Gary Garrison goes inside the walls of the Edmonton Institution to listen to the often unheard voices of maximum security prisoners BY PAULA E. KIRMAN Gary Garrison 's Human On the Inside is as much about some of what goes on behind locked doors as it is an exploration of human nature.  Gary Garrison's 'Human on the Inside' Garrison, a local author and poet who is the former editor of the Alberta Legislature's Hansard , took part in a volunteer program where he would visit with inmates at the maximum security Edmonton Institution . That passion is evident on every wall, in every corner, and within every aspect of El Cortez, perhaps the most unique bar in all of Edmonton, and certainly the cit

BY EMIL TIEDEMANN I n his signature hit "American Pie," Don McLean sings about "the day the music died." He was, of course, referring to the 1959 plane crash that killed Ritchie Valens , The Big Bopper and a 22-year-old Buddy Holly . And although Holly's life ended far too soon that day, his music and legacy refuses to fade away. 'Oh Boy, Buddy Holly' runs until April 12th! Jubilations Dinner Theatre 's production of ' Oh Boy, Buddy Holly! ' reminds mature audiences of Holly's enduring influence, and introduces newer generations to the music that has inspired everyone from  Bob Dylan  to The Beatles , and indirectly countless other musicians around the world. Scripted by Mat Andre and the show's director Randy Apostle , 'Oh Boy' breathes fresh life
